September 11th sent the travel insurance over 75 business booming, but the piece of mind that insurance provides may come at too steep a price for travelers, according to a recent Consumer Reports investigation.

The £1-billion-a-year travel insurance industry can cover trips that are canceled or interrupted, even when tour operators file for bankruptcy.

Travel insurance is also available for lost baggage, medical emergencies and accidental death.

However, Consumer Reports found that most travel insurance is not worth the cost.
